Coffee Talk: 2008 Elections

An old acquaintance posted this on his Facebook page:
"[name omitted] won't vote this time around. A vote against Obama is still a vote for McCain. But would vote '"Yes"' if I were from California."

I would like to know your opinion on this statement: Is this a valid statement or the uninformed rantings of the too typical U.S. Voter?

I think it's punitive because there are still many other important races this year. These include, Governer, Attorney General, and Congressmen. These three positions have a very real impact on our lives. Being uniformed is an ignorant is not an excuse!

I believe that the government has gone astray in many ways. It was never set up for polititians to make a liveing at it. Why would someone pay 40 million dollars to get elected to a job that only pays 200thousand a year...unless they knew there would be a way to screw us out of it somehow latter on. But alas we find ourselves voteing for the lesser of two evils...either way, voting is your right to complain....if you don't vote, don't complain about the way things go. Today the election is over, but at least I know I did my part to try and fix things....and I have every right to complain about what happens from here. Here is my prayer, that we never loose the rights that were so bravely faught and sacrificed for. I worry what the American people are giving up so that they can feel safe...I think it was Ben Franklin that said, "those who will give up a little privacy for a little security deserve neither" I just hope what we sacrifice isn't worth more than what we are gaining. :)...end of soapbox sorry....my bad...I get a little passionate about politics some times :)

live fast die young leave nothing. No just kidding I'm with Bethany on this one, there's a lot of other issues to vote about and seriously, there are other candidates on the ballot, if you're fed up with the two parties choose another one. Go Nader!
